31 Movie Bad Girls for Halloween: The Final Chapter

This week we are looking at what I consider the classic scary movies featuring Movie Bad Girls. These are movies that to me go hand in hand with the holiday. After that I have cruised the web looking for fun homemade costumes for children this Halloween and have listed some of my favorites. A great costume doesn’t have to be store bought. So here we go and I hope you have fun.

The classic tale of possession and how far a mother is willing to go to save her daughter from the invading spirit. It is brutal and harrowing and one hell of a scary ride. This is quite possibly the most terrifying movie ever made and is my favorite film of all time.

Once they arrive ghostly things begin to happen and it seems the house wants Eleanor to stay…forever. This classic movie may give you more than one sleepless night and is a delightfully chilling treat.

Marcie (Jeannine Taylor) hears a strange noise in the bathroom which she will investigate with deadly results in “Friday the 13th”

“Friday the 13th” (1980)

Stars: Betsy Palmer, Adrienne King and Jeannine Taylor

Rated: “R” contains language, graphic violence, brief nudity, sexual situations and a scene of drug use.

Every campfire story has a beginning and in the case of Jason Voorhees it is the story of his mother. This is the movie that set the formula for classic 80’s slasher films and at the time was deemed too graphic in it’s scenes of violence. The movie is tame by today’s standards but is nonetheless a classic tale of horror. Take a trip back to 1980 when slasher films were fun and enjoy the story that started it all. “Friday the 13th”

Rosemary gets pregnant and the neighbors take a huge interest. She realizes there is a sinister motive behind the interest and it all seems to have to do with her unborn child. Roman Polanski showed us you can make a very scary movie without a lot of special effects. This is great storytelling at it scariest and finest.

“Hocus Pocus” (1993)

Stars: Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy

Rated: “PG” contains mild language, comic violence and some mild crude humor.

No Halloween is complete without this delightful Disney film. The Sanderson sisters were executed for practicing witchcraft. Three hundred years later a boy named Max accidentally resurrects the evil sisters. Now the lives of  all the children in Salem are in grave danger if Max, his sister Dani and friend Allison cannot stop the twisted trio before dawn. Come on a comic journey with Max and company as they battle with three of the kookiest and eccentric witches ever put on film in this family favorite.

I was walking through a costume shop last week and noticed a disturbing trend. First the costumes cost way too much for something you are going to put on your child for one night. Second was the fact that some costumes were “sexy” (witch, pirate, nurse) which would be fine except they were kid’s costumes. A 10 year old should not be a “sexy” anything for Halloween. I have searched the web and found some fun homemade costume ideas for kids that won’t cost a fortune and won’t have them looking like a pole dancer. See you next week and the costumes in no particular order are:
