Happy Labor Day!
The US Department of Labor states that, “Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.”
For many of us, Labor Day marks the end of summer–a time to celebrate with friends and family. Our celebrations don’t look that much different from the originals in 1882: parades, picnics, music, and family activities. The idea of the day was to show the strength and spirit of the American worker. It is the worker, after all, that keeps America moving.
As we, hopefully, enjoy the day-off with our loved ones, let’s keep the ambiance light. It’s important to our work-life balance to be able to breathe, to look at our accomplishments, and take a moment to revel in our successes (however small) before we push forward towards new achievements (i.e. Tuesday).
The Work Life Balance Protection Agency wants to help you keep your celebration moving with music dedicated to hard workin’ folks! We hope to include something for everyone on our mix. We’re all in it together.
